Machine Learning Summer School: Five Days of AI and Machine Learning

From 14–18 September 2026, the Faculty of Management Science and Informatics at the University of Žilina will welcome students, doctoral candidates, researchers, and industry professionals at the Machine Learning Summer School 2026, organized as part of the project “Research and Development of Advanced Artificial Intelligence Solutions for Cyber Threat Detection and Defense Against Sophisticated Attacks.”
Over five days, the summer school will offer a combination of expert lectures and practical workshops focused on modern machine learning methods and their applications across various fields. Particular attention will be paid to the potential of deep learning, which has become one of the key technologies driving the development of AI.
From NLP to Cybersecurity
The summer school programme combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Participants will explore the use of deep learning in areas such as natural language processing (NLP), transportation, energy, cybersecurity, medicine, and computer vision.
This interdisciplinary programme will give participants the opportunity to explore machine learning from multiple perspectives while gaining insight into its practical applications for solving real-world problems.
The summer school is primarily intended for participants who already have basic knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, and the Python programming language. This foundation will allow the programme to focus on more advanced topics and the practical application of acquired knowledge.
For participants, the summer school represents an opportunity not only to expand their technical expertise but also to gain a better understanding of how modern AI technologies can be applied in fields with significant societal and technological impact.
